Contemporary Architecture - How New Construction Techniques Have Changed Over Time

Contemporary Architecture is an examination of contemporary architecture, rather than the radical revolution that modern art evolved from. In general, New York architecture and Dubai architecture design generally design contemporary architecture which retains the traditional features and the openness of traditional architecture, while there are also significant influences from Sustainability and Deconstruction in contemporary architecture.

Contemporary Architecture in New York City is not about an overabundance of "carpet". Rather, contemporary architecture is about a minimalist approach to the use of material in a variety of materials. This approach to material selection allows for a great deal of flexibility in the form of design. The use of the open-air space in contemporary architecture is also very much prevalent, as is the use of large glass windows or other forms of glass-paned glass.

The use of a variety of materials to design your architecture is also very much present in modern design. Materials such as stainless steel, wood, iron, glass, concrete block are often used to design large-scale modern buildings. However, these materials can often be costly and may not be feasible in many areas. Modern architecture design is not necessarily about the use of materials; rather, it's about the ability to create the type of architecture that is able to meet the challenges and demands of the changing landscape.

Traditional buildings have always had certain inherent qualities. In the past, the architecture of these buildings tended to be very strong and robust. The use of the more traditional materials, such as stone, was very common. New construction projects in the past were also constructed using this style of building, which allowed for very heavy structures.

As time went on, many architects began to move away from the use of stone and towards the more modern materials, such as steel. With the use of steel, many new construction projects in the past were not only less expensive but also easier to construct, as well. Steel used to be a relatively new material which was used primarily for railroad buildings, but was later used to create buildings in the industrial areas. A new style of steel was developed, called "Renaissance steel", which allowed for the use of metal with intricate patterns.

New building techniques allowed for the use of many more materials than just metals. Many different types of wood, such as cedar, bamboo, wicker and straw, were now being used to create large buildings.
