Marijuana News Online - 21st Century Marijuana Activists Fear Federal Government Action on Pot

When it comes to breaking the news in Nevada, Marijuana News Online provides a variety of information sources. The Marijuana Prevention and Control Act of 1974 made medical marijuana use legal in the state. Since then, local municipalities and state governments have been implementing regulations and laws pertaining to marijuana use, including regulation of advertising.

To ensure that the Marijuana News Online remains current on this ever-changing subject, many sources also provide links to other related resources. One of those links is the Marijuana Enforcement Division's website, which contains state-by-state summaries of pending legislation. Visitors to the site can browse through pending laws, learn about pending cases involving medical cannabis dispensaries and learn about how states are addressing these issues.

Another piece of Marijuana News Online content deals with how recreational use of the drug will be regulated by the 2021 Governor's Office. Two pieces of legislation, one from Assemblyman Jim Wright (D-rider) and one from Assemblywoman Carol Cardy (D-925) have been approved by the state legislature and are now waiting in the hands of the Governor. The deadline for action is Juneau. Both pieces of legislation are aimed at protecting the recreational use of กัญชา from citizens' attempts to circumvent the law. They also hope to create more accessible, affordable medicinal use of the drug. Both measures are now headed toward the governor's desk.

As previously mentioned, marijuana use is still illegal under federal law, even in states that allow the recreational use of the drug. However, the Trump Administration has taken an active role in Colorado and Washington becoming the latest states to legalize recreational marijuana. Drug Enforcement agents were notified by the administration to step up enforcement of federal marijuana laws and prevent marijuana use by criminals. While the enforcement of state laws is still in progress, the federal government has reportedly taken an active role in discouraging and arresting people using or distributing marijuana.

The Trump Administration has not said anything publicly about its plan to address the growing number of marijuana dispensaries in the United States. Marijuana advocates and lawyers expect the new administration to announce some sort of policy involving cannabis in the near future. They are watching to see what the Attorney General and other members of the administration will do regarding the issue. Reports indicate that there is a strong chance that marijuana dispensaries will continue to be targeted by federal authorities as long as marijuana is illegal under federal law. However, the new administration may decide to simply crack down on cannabis at the local level and leave state-sanctioned cannabis shops in the dark.

Will the Trump Administration protect California's Proponents of legalization of cannabis? The answer is "maybe." A spokesperson for the administration did not return multiple requests for comment on whether the new administration would crack down hard on local California dispensaries that sell recreational and medical marijuana, but the spokesperson did tell the Associated Press that "we believe that regulation and licensing should be left to states that want to regulate their own marijuana retail stores." If the government is not seriously considering protecting California marijuana stores and taxing the cannabis industry, it may have little to fear from voters in November's election.
